In partnership with the Wyandanch Community Development Corporation and Sustainable Long Island, Senator Owen Johnson and Assemblyman Robert Sweeney joined Supervisor Steve Bellone to announce that the Town of Babylon has been awarded the largest Brownfields Opportunity Area (BOA) grant on Long Island for the revitalization of abandoned and possibly contaminated properties along the Straight Path corridor and the Wyandanch LIRR station. Through the Brownfields Opportunity Award, communities will be able to return dormant areas to productive use and restore environmental quality.
